Cai Lei's NFT creation is the inevitable advancement of the artist's personal technical and theoretical growth, as well as the inevitable evolution of contemporary sculpture driven by the development of art history.

Cai Lei's early works are willing to discuss "dimensions", incorporating time into static sculptures, extending three-dimensionality to two-dimensional coordinates. And digital art gives the possibility to challenge the five-dimensional space: breaking the linear thinking and physical habits, the gold dots and lines abstracted by the work contain fractals, solitons, and chaos in the dynamics. In the 2020 new work series, "Three Units" is covered with gold leaf, but it covers not the common gods, but the stairs leading to the gods. If the work presented in the exhibition hall still has a sense of everyday familiarity, then in the video, the digital ladder shrouded by the holy light has broken away from the daily life and extended to the unknown of the universe.

From Plato's fable in the cave, art has been pursuing infinity and being close to reality, but it has drifted away from it in form. In the deep cultivation of sculptures and other categories, Cai Lei's "0102#" and other works can be compared with Fontana's breakthrough of tearing the plane, but it is further that the transformation of the medium can promote the most in-depth expression of the concept.

The perspective of the reality sculpture in "Projection of the World" rises up, and the virtual dynamic effects go deep into the interior. The discussion of "viewing" does not stop at the perception of the surface, and moves toward the connection between the internal structure and the "emptiness" and "emptiness". In the last frame, Plato’s candlelight, “the record of numbers after the time dimension has passed” can still be seen in the darkness, and is no longer a fleeting shadow. The blockchain gives evidence of the existence of art. If time is unlimited, this is true.
